What are my other options?
When dealing with debt you have five basic options:
1) Ignore it
2) Pay it
3) Settle it
4) Fight it
5) File bankruptcy
We deal only in unsecured debt, namely credit cards. There are some instances where it is necessary to incorporate a few of these options into any debt battle but our primary method is to fight the debt. We fight the debt through the novation process and by using creditors' tactics against them. For instance, it is common practice that debt collectors call, send letters, and otherwise harrass you when you owe money. When our process is properly enacted each of these phone calls and letters results in a monetary penalty to the creditor. Eventually your bill is not only brought to zero, but the creditor ends up owing YOU money.
This sounds too good to be true. Will it work?
Every circumstance is different and so we cannot make blanket guarantees. But we have had tremendous success for our clients whose debts have simply been eliminated. That is, after enacting our method and wearing the creditors down, we convinced the creditors to eliminate the account from their records. It becomes such a hassle for the creditors to continue trying to collect on your accounts that they simply give up! Each situation is unique but generally we achieve similar outcomes. In some cases creditors pursue the debt in a court of law. While we are not a law firm we have the resources available to see you through litigation so that the debt is forgiven by the judge. We give you sample letters, filings, and pleadings to empower you to fight the battle. Again, we are not a law firm, but any individual can fight these court challenges when provided with the right resources and advice. As a last resort and worse case scenario, in the event a particular debt is not successfully eliminated (which is highly unlikely), we will refund a portion of your fee to us to assist you in either settling the debt or filing bankruptcy when necessary. This is an ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT and we never work toward this result. However, we want to assure our clients that even in the worst case scenario DTN is with you all the way.
How much does it cost?
For debt elimination and debt settlement cases the fee is 8.5% of the total debt balance plus transaction fees when using a credit card for payment. Although this may sound like a large number, when you look at the total amount of debt forgiven the fee seems quite small. We also provide a debt account management service, which is a month-to-month debt elimination solution that allows you to pay in installments while getting started on eliminating debts. We like our clients and we like to grow our business so call today to discuss your issues. We will do our best to get you on a program that you can afford and that gives you the results you are looking for.
When is a good time to start?
The ideal time to sign up with our debt elimination or debt settlement programs is while you are still currently paying on your credit cards but are ready to stop paying, also known as going into default. We can still enact our process if you are just a few months in default but we must act quickly. After six months of default the situation changes for a number of reasons that we can explain further. After this time period a debt account management program may be the best option.
What is the debt account management program?
We found that for a number of clients who came to us after they were well into default that they were tired of dealing with the stress of the debt collectors. In the debt account management program we basically take over your accounts. We take the collection calls and receive the letters. We free you from the headache of these collectors daily harassment tactics. While complete debt elimination may not always be possible with the debt account management program, having us interact with your collectors on a daily basis allows us to look for the opportunity where debt elimination may be able to occur. The monthly fee for the debt account management program ranges from $50.00 to $1000.00 per month depending on the number of accounts. Call today to see if we can help. We would love to help you find a solution to your debt problems and make your life just a little bit easier.
How will my credit be affected?
Your credit will be trashed. There is no way around it. The bright side is that eventually you can get your score back up if that is something that matters to you. Once the debt elimination process is completed we can refer you to reputable credit repair organizations that will help you improve your score. The detrimental effect to your credit from our debt elimination or debt settlement processes will be less than if you filed bankruptcy. This means you will be able to recover faster from the lower score. But let’s look for a moment at what the credit score means. The credit score is a way for potential creditors to quickly evaluate whether you are a risky person to lend money to. This means that if you are concerned about your credit score recovering from the debt elimination process then you are interested in borrowing money again at some point. We would argue that you should avoid this thought process. Isn’t this type of mentality what got you into this mess in the first place? We strongly recommend to our clients that you take advantage of our debt elimination process to free yourself from the shackles of debt forever. You will receive the grace of not having to slave away to pay back every penny of your current credit card balances. Why not take the money that you would have devoted to these cards and start saving it? Start packing it away. Maybe you aren’t making any money right now. Well, when you do start making money again, start saving. We hate to see people ever take on any kind of debt. We prefer you save up the money beforehand and then pay for whatever it is you need. This makes you look at the money you have from a completely different perspective. For example, imagine you worked really hard all year and managed to piece together a savings of $8,000.00 and that you wanted to buy a car with it. Do you really think that at the end of the year you would still want to blow all that money on a vehicle that will eventually become worthless? When you reflect on all the scrimping and saving you had to do to get that money together will you still want to waste it on a clunker? We really doubt it. Instead, you will probably say to yourself, “Hey, I can still get a very reliable, decent car for $4,000.00 and save the other half for something else.” We are not financial advisers but we have seen enough to know that taking on debt for the common consumer is usually a bad idea.
Can I get in trouble or go to jail?
Not yet! We kid, we kid! However, with the direction the United States is taking there may come a time when you can be criminally punished for not paying your debts. In fact, you may have heard in the news recently about a man whose front door was smashed in by a SWAT team because he was in default on his student loan. We all know this is illegal and unconstitutional but times are changing in the United States. It sounds frightening but unfortunately that is our country today. We are hopeful that the citizens can help to change the country for the better. In the meantime, since you are free to default on your debt (heck, corporations do it all the time!) you might as well take advantage of that freedom. We understand that this may seem selfish and opportunistic to some people. However, we are realists who understand that desperate times call for desperate measures. As inflation continues to rise, the interests rates on your credit cards will rise. It is entirely possible that you could spend an entire year paying down a credit card balance only to see that what you paid gets added back on because of higher interest rates. The interest rates are usurious and should be criminal. But with freedom comes abuses of freedom. We help you avoid becoming the subject of these corporate abuses.
Will my information be made public?
No. It is illegal for debt collectors to inform anyone about your debts except for you. If debt collectors reveal the status of your debt to anyone you can sue them and we can recommend some quality attorneys in your area if you choose to go this route. If you have any additional questions about legalities, such as whether you have a valid case, we recommend a website called www.LeyLegal.com where you can get legal questions answered very inexpensively.
Also, we do not ever sell your information to third parties. We treat your file like gold because we value our clients and much of our business comes from the referrals of satisfied clients.
